KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE USES BALANCED ATTACK IN 11-7 MAC WIN OVER DESALES

WILKES-BARRE -- Four different Monarchs scored two goals to lead King's College to an important 11-7 MAC win over DeSales University Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

With the victory King's moves to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in league play. DeSales drops to 1-8 overall and 1-4 in conference matches.

King's opened the game with a Rob Lane unassisted goal to take an early 1-0 lead. DeSales responded scoring the next three goals in a three minute time frame to take a 3-1 lead with 8:48 left in the opening stanza. Pat Bonnot cut into the deficit with an unassisted tally at the 4:28 mark to make it 3-2. After another Bulldog goal, Monarch attacker Ryan Bullock scored with four seconds remaining in the period to get King's to within one at 4-3.

King's rode the momentum of the late first period goal into the second frame tying and taking the lead with goals from Mike O'Brien and Kieran McMahon four minutes in. DeSales' James Guerrier would tie the score at 5-5, before goals from Lenny Fox and Bonnot's second tally gave King's a 7-5 advantage with 7:08 left until the break. Brendan Guerrier notched a goal late in the quarter for DeSales as King's took a 7-6 lead into the half.

From there, King's outscored DeSales 4-1 in the second half to preserve the key conference victory. Bullock notched his second of the game followed by a Sean Rulon tally to give King's some breathing room up 9-6 through three periods.

Rulon added his second of the contest minutes into the fourth quarter and Fox notched his second to dash any hopes of a Bulldog comeback.

Bullock, Rulon, Fox, and Bonnot each scored twice for the winners. Kieran McMahon added one goal and one assist, while Rob lane chipped in one goal. King's goalie Kevin Conzola was solid in net finishing with five saves.

DeSales was led by Tony Fabrizio's four goals and one helper. Bulldog keeper Justin Campanelli made 10 stops in net.

King's will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Lebanon Valley for a 4:00 p.m. in Annville, Pa.
