KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RESUMING PLAY AT HOME AGAINST DEFENDING CSAC CHAMPION NEUMANN
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's basketball team return home to Scandlon Gymnasium for the first time since Dec. 3 when the Lady Monarchs to host Neumann on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs are currently 8-3 on the year after splitting a pair of games at the Whittier College Tournament on December 29-30. King's opened the tournament with an 83-61 loss to 2011 NCAA Division III "Final Four" qualifier Illinois Wesleyan before bouncing back to take a 60-49 decision over Regis College on day-two.
Neumann, the two-time defending Colonial States Athletic Conference champion, started the second semester with a pair of losses at the talent-laden Gettysburg Tournament to fall to 4-7 overall. The Knights lost 73-43 to MAC Commonwealth Conference power Messiah College and then fell to traditional Division III stalwart University of Scranton 62-56.
King's has lost its last four meetings with Neumann, including a 71-47 setback last season in the season-opener for both teams. King's also lost 79-70 in 2009-10; 64-55 in 2007-08; and 64-51 in 2006-07. King's last victory over Neumann was a 88-50 triumph on January 9, 2004.
Senior forward
Paige Carlin has led the Lady Monarchs in scoring with 13.2 points per game as well as pulling down 4.1 boards. Fellow senior forward
Samantha Simcox is just shy of a season double-double with 11.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per -contest. Junior guard
Katlin Michaels has chipped in 8.9 points, 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds while junior guard
Celia Rader adds 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 20 three-pointers. Junior power forward
Lindsay Atchison contributes 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds while freshman center
Marissa Manning chips in with 6.7 points and 4.8 boards. Senior guard
Brittany Muscatell rounds out the regulars with 4.0 points, 5.2 rebounsd per-game. King's has averaged 66.5 points per-game while allowing opponents just 59.9 each contest.
Junior forward Bethany Humenik has paced the Knights' offense averaging 10.6 points to go with 7.3 rebounds per-outing. Senior center Sami Borcky has tallied 9.3 points and a team-high 8.7 rebounds. Sophomore guard Erica Marvel has added 8.9 points with 18 three-pointers. Senior guard Cecily Scavicchio contributes 6.1 points and 3.0 rebounds while sophomore guard Lauren Walker adds 6.0 points and 3.3 rebounds with 10 three-pointers. Sophomore small forward Colleen Hinde chips in with 5.8 points and 2.1 rebounds. Neumann averages 61.3 points while yielding 66.7 each contest.
Following its game with Neumann, the Lady Monarchs will return to Freedom Conference play on Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Center Valley to face defending Freedom Conference champion DeSales University at 6:00 p.m.
