COLD-SHOOTING KING'S WOMEN FALL TO JUNIATA IN TOURNEY FINAL

HUNTINGDON -- The King's College women's basketball team shot a frigid 24.6 percent from the floor, its lowest of the season, as the Lady Monarchs dropped a 80-51 verdict to host Juniata College in the championship game of the Juniata Holiday Tournament Saturday in Huntingdon.

The Eagles would outscore King's
12-7 over the next nine minutes to build a 23-15 advantage after a traditional three-point play from Paige Dennison with 6:32 to go.

Michaels lay-up with 4:25 remaining, the Eagles closed out the half with a 11-4 run to take a 34-23 lead at the break.

In the second half Juniata slowly extended its lead when King's mustered only seven points and just two baskets over the first 6:56 of the final stanza. Juniata, meanwhile, experienced no such problem and stretched the lead to 56-30 on a pair of McDonald foul shots with 13:22 left in the contest.
