King's Men's Laxers Fall to Drew

KING'S MEN'S LAXERS FALL TO DREW 8-1

WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Drew University opened a 3-0 first period lead while host King's College mustered just one goal in 39 shots as the Rangers posted a 8-1 victory in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Wednesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, Drew improved to 1-0 while King's slipped to 0-2. Scott Humphreys and Patrick Lamon
gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead just 2:33 into the match off of feeds by Andrew Somps. Sean McGowan pushed the score to 3-0 on a goal with just 0:22 remaining in the first period.

Humphreys added a goal in the second half to give the Rangers a 4-0 lead at the break, then scored again 2:05 into the third quarter to push the score to 5-0. Drew scored three more goals to lead 8-0 before the Monarchs finally struck net with just 0:48 left in the contest when Billy McCullough scored unassisted.

Humphreys finished the game with four goals while Andrew
Somps added two goals and three assists for the Rangers. McCullough also paced King's with four ground balls and won seven faceoffs.

King's outshot Drew 39-30 put managed just 13 shots on goal. Monarch goalie Brendan McCrudden
made nine saves while Drew keeper Charlie DeSocio posted 12 stops.


King's returns to action Saturday when the Monarchs travel to Selinsgrove to face Susquehanna University at 1:00 p.m.
