KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE IMPROVES TO 8-1 WITH 11-7 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA

DALLAS -- Mike O'Brien scored three goals and dished out two assists to led the King's College men's lacrosse team to an 11-7 Freedom Conference over Misericordia University in a game that spanned two days due a lightening suspension on Wednesday night.

With the win King's improved to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in Freedom Conference play while the Cougars slipped to 6-5 and 1-1 in league competition.

On Wednesday the Monarchs built a 9-4 lead midway through the third quarter when the game was halted due to severe lightening and rain. The teams picked up the contest at the point of stoppage where Misericordia outscored King's 3-2 the rest of the way.

O'Brien tallied five points in the game while Pat Bonnot also contributed three goals. Max Malloy tallied two goals while Liam Kelly, Kieran McMahon, and Billy McCullough added one goal each. A.J. Bungert posted a team-high six ground balls while Bonnot added two ground balls. McCullough also won 6-of-11 face-offs while Ryan Francik was victorious on 4-of-7 attempts.

In goal, Monarch keeper Brendan McCrudden made nine stops.


King's returns to action Saturday when the Monarchs travel to St. Davids to face Eastern University in a key Freedom Conference matchup.
