King's Women Fall on the Road to 7th Ranked FDU-Florham

7TH RANKED FDU WOMEN HANDLE KING'S

MADISON, NJ -- The unbeaten and seventh-ranked FDU-Florham women's basketball team lived up to its lofty ranking, building a 26-point half-time lead en route to posting a 90-44 victory over visiting King's College in a Freedom Conference matchup Saturday in the Ferguson Center in Madison, NJ.

With the win, the Lady Devils improved to 21-0 and 10-0 in conference play while King's slipped to 5-16 and 1-9.

FDU went to work right out of the gates and raced to a 22-2 lead just 6:48 into the game, forcing seven King's turnovers during the run. The Lady Monarchs came no closer than 19 points for the remainder of the half as the Devils took a comfortable 50-24 lead into the break.

King's fared no better the second half as the Devils scored the first 10 points of the final period before King's finally scored on a threer-pointer from Kasey Seitz to bring the score to 60-27 with 15:05 left in the contest. The Lady Monarchs drew no closer the rest of the way.

Tara Zdancewicz led King's with 11 points and three rebounds while Jennifer Fabian followed with 10 points and six boards. Marissa Manning tallied nine points and three rebounds while Seitz contributed five points, four rebounds, and four assists. Jessica McHugh chipped in with five points and four boards.

FDU was paced four double-figure scorers. Kara Daton, Alyssa McDonoghue, and Leigh-Ann Livele had 14 points each while Shalette Brown tallied 12 points. Kyra Dayon added seven points and six rebounds.

The Lady Monarchs return to the court Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. with a Freedom Conferencehome matchup against Delaware Valley in Scandlon Gym.
