King's Men's Laxers Dominant in 19-2 Road Win Over Manhattanville

KING'S MEN'S LAXERS EVEN FREEDOM CONFERENCE MARK WITH 19-2 ROAD WIN OVER MANHATTANVILLE

PURCHASE, NY -- The King's College men's lacrosse team erupted for 13 first-half goals and used a stellar defensive effort to allow just two first-period scored as the Monarchs posted a convincing 19-2 win over host Manhattanville College Saturday in Puchase, NY.

With the win King's improved to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in Freedom Conference games while Manhattanville slipped to 1-12 and 0-3 in league competition.

Pat Bonnot led  the way for King's with four goals, including two in the first quarter. Mike O'Brien tallied three goals and an assist while Kieran McMahon and Kyle Wilk also netted three goals. A.J. Bungert added one goal and two assists.  

The Monarch defense, led by Joe Massa, Billy Malone, Jamie Downs, and Chris Theodorou, was outstanding, shutting out the Valiants for the final 48:14 of the game. 

Monarch goalies Brendan McCrudden, William Pokorny, and Luke Zottola combined for five saves in the game.

King's outshot Manhattanville 34-20, but the Valiants were limited to just seven shots on goal. The Monarchs also held a 32-18 advantage in ground balls as well as a 16-9 lead in face-offs.

King's will be idle until Thursday when the Monarchs host FDU-Florham at 4:00 p.m.
