SCRANTON -- Senior forward Marissa Manning scored the game-winning shot with 0:13 remaining as the King's College women's basketball team posted a 67-65 victory over Keystone College on the final day of the Sleep Inn Holiday Classic Sunday at Marywood University.

With the win King's improved to 4-6 on the year while Keystone slipped to 5-6.

King's came out strong and opened a 14-4 lead just 5:50 into the game on the strength of five points each from Manning and Jennifer Fabian. Keytone battled back, however and cut the lead to 16-7 run of its own to lose the gap to 21-20 after a pair of foul shots form AAliya Hayes with 6:24 left in the half.

After King's used a traditional three-point play by Rachel DeTore, Fabian followed with a short jumper to extend the King's lead to 27-20 with 4:59 on the clock. Manning then capped a 10-0 King's run with a one-of-two foul shots, followed by driving layup to give the Lady Monarchs a 34-24 lead with 0:56 left in the opening half. Keystone, would cut the lead to 34-26 at the break when Cierra Hensley made a pair of free throws with 0:12 on the clock.

In the second half Keystone put together a 22-9 surge to cut the King's lead to take a 48-43 lead with 11:12 left in the game following a bucket and foul shots by Hayes.

King's then fought back, using a layup from DeTore, a jumper by Manning, and a Katie Dugan three-pointer to tie the game at 50-50 with 7:54 to go.

Neither team took a lead of more than two points the rest of the way. Keystone broke a 63-63 tie when Dyjaeae Williams canned a jumper to give the Lady Giants a 65-63 lead with 1:20 to go, but King;ed tied the score at the 1:08 mark on a Manning layup. 

After Keystone missed on a three-pointer with 0:58 remaining the teams traded turnovers with King's assuming possession 0:38 remaining. Following a King's timeout the Lady Monarchs scored what proved to be the game-winning basket when Fabian found Manning for a short jumper in the paint to set the score at 67-75 with 0:13 on the clock.

Keystone had a chance to tie the game but Hayes missed a jumper with 0:05 left. King's would then missed the front end of a one-and-one from the foul line with 0:03 on the clock but Keystone was unable to get off a final shot.

Manning, who earned a spot on the all-tournament team, finished with a team-high 19 points, eight rebounds, and tree assists. Fabian followed with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while Kayla Feairheller and DeTore contributed with eight and seven points respectively.  Olivia Hoffman was a major presence inside, pulling down a career-high 20 rebounds while blocking four shots and scoring six points.  Dugan and Kasey Seitz chipped in with six and five points each.

For Keystone, Hayes posted a game-high 22 points with 11 rebounded o earn all-tournament honors. Evans chipped in with 15 points and four assists.

King's returns to the court Thursday when the Lady Monarchs hosts Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 6:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
