KING'S MEN'S LAXERS DROP 11-7 DECISION TO SUSQUEHANNA

WILKES-BARRE -- Carmen Roroha and Nick Reardon both scored three goals with one assist as the visiting Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team posted a 11-7 victory over King's College Saturday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Susquehanna improved to 2-1 while King's slipped to 0-2.

King's built a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Kyle Wilk and A.J. Bungert.  But Susquehanna outscored the Monarchs 6-1 in the second period, led by two scores from Reardon, to take a 6-3 lead at the half.

In the third quarter King's used goals from Cam trick and Wilk to cut the lead to 7-5 entering the final frame. But Susquehanna countered with one goal each from Roroha, Phil Lapone, and Reardon to push the score to 10-5 with 6:59 left in the contest. 

King's tried to come back and got goals from Wilk and Evan Lawshe to close to within 10-7 with 5:51 to go, but Susquehanna put the game away when Lapone struck net for the Crusaders with 1:17 left to set the final score.

Wilk led King's with three goals while Bungert added two goals and one assist.  Lapone scored twice for Susquehanna while Jake Calder chipped in with one goal and one assist.

Susquehanna outshot King's 43-25 while the Monarchs held a 32-21 advantage in ground balls. King's committed 19 turnovers compared to 14 for Susquehanna while the Monarchs committed 11 penalties with the Crusaders finishing with six.
King's will be idle until Saturday when the Monarchs host Goucher College at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
