King's Men's Laxers Post 16-3 Win Over Keystone

KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE POSTS 16-3 WIN OVER KEYSTONE

LaPLUME -- The freshmen duo of Cam Trick and Brock Johnson both posted four goals and three assists to power the King's  College men's lacrosse team to a 16-3 victory over host Keystone College Friday in La Plume.

With the win King's improved to 1-4 while Keystone slipped to 0-3.

The Monarchs jumped out to a 8-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to three goals from Mike DiCarlo and two from Trick. In the second stanza Trick added two more goals while Johnson and Kevin Sweeney also scored to give the Monarchs a 12-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter Johnson netted two more goals while Sweeney tallied his second of the game to push the lead to 15-0 heading into the fourth quarter.

From there Sweeney scored his third goal before Keystone closed out the scoring with goals from Killian Nau, Caleb Strope, and Cullen Smith to set the final score.

Johnson and Trick totaled seven points in the game, the fourth most in King's history, while Sweeney finished with three goals, one assist, and five ground balls. DiCarlo also had three goals. Nick Foley won 12-of-14 faceoffs and had a team-high seven ground balls. 

Billy Malone scooped up six ground balls and caused six turnovers. Chris Theodorou posted four caused turnovers and four ground balls while Reed Jimenez and Michael Whitfield chipped in with five and three ground balls respectively.

The Monarchs will return to the field Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m.  matchup at Lebanon Valley College.
