KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE DROPS 9-4 DECISION TO MISERICRODIA

DALLAS, PA --- The King's College men's lacrosse team fell to host Misericordia University 9-4 at Mangelsdorf Field on Tuesday night.

Misericordia improves to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference with the win. King's falls to 5-7 overall and 2-3 in Freedom play. The Monarchs currently sit in fourth place in the conference standings, one game ahead of Delaware Valley, Manhattanville, and DeSales with one game left to play.

King's took an early 2-0 lead on two goals by Cam Trick in the first three minutes of play. Misericordia responded with four straight goals, three by Brandon Winslow, to take a 4-2 lead with 14:13 left in the second quarter.  Trick scored his third goal with 8:52 left in the half but Andrew Reynolds was able to score for the Cougars six seconds later. Misericordia scored one more goal in the half to take a 6-3 halftime lead.

Misericordia scored the only goal of the third quarter to extend their lead to four. Trick scored his fourth goal with 9:54 left in the game to cut the Cougar advantage to 7-4. The Cougars responded with two more goals to set the final score.

The Cougars outshot the Monarchs 31-23 and held a 39-26 advantage in ground balls. Misericordia had 17 turnovers compared the King's 21 and both teams won eight face-offs.

Cam Trick led the Monarchs scoring all four goals. A.J. Bungert had one assist. William Pokorny made 12 saves in goal.

Brandon Winslow led Misericordia with three goals and one assist. Lane Kocovsky had two goals and one assist while Andrew Reynolds and Chris Fleming had two goals each. Patrick Johnson made four saves in goal.

King's will now host Manhattanville College at McCarthy Stadium on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Monarchs must beat the Valiants to clinch a berth in the Freedom Conference Tournament.
