King's Men's Laxers Drop 14-9 Decision to Scranton

KING'S MEN'S LAXERS FALL TO SCRANTON, 14-9

WILKES-BARRE -- The visiting University of Scranton men's lacrosse team built a 9-3 halftime lead en route to a 14-9 victory over host King's College in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup Wednesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Scranton improved to 4-1 while King's slipped to 1-3.

Brock Johnson led King's with four goals, two assists and three ground balls while Shawn Dickey also tallied four goals with one assist and two ground balls.


Brett O'Neill dished out three assists with three ground balls while Michael Paniccia had one goal. Marshall Hardy and Mike DiCarlo posted one assist apiece while Nick Foley won 11-of-27 faceoffs and had a team-high seven ground balls. King's goalie Matt Basile made 17 saves in the game.

Scranton was paced by Jame Haimson with four goals as seven different Royals' players struck net.    

The Royals outshot King's 44-19 and held a 36-35 advantage in ground balls.

King's will next travel to Annville to face Lebanon Valley College Saturday, March 19 at 12:00 noon
