KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE  FALLS TO MISERICORDIA

DALLAS -- The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team remained in sole possession of first place in the MAC Freedom Conference as the Cougars posted a 14-6 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday night in Dallas.

With the win Misericordia improved to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play. King's fell to 4-8 and 1-3 in league competition.

Misericordia took a 5-3 lead after the first quarter of play, then outscored the Monarchs 3-2 over the subsequent 15 minutes to built a 8-5 lead at the break. Alec Kellish and Chris Fleming led the Cougars with three goals each in the opening stanza. Brett O'Neill and Brian Stieger netted two goals apiece for the Monarchs.

The Cougars broke open the game in the third period by outscoring the Monarchs 4-0 to take a 12-5 lead into the final frame.

Kellish led the Cougars with four goals while Flemming added three goals and three assists. 

O'Neill finished with two goals and two assists; Steiger tallied two goals; while Brock Johnson contributed one goal and one assist. Holden Schooley chipped in with one assist. Nick Foley had seven ground balls and won 12-of-24 faceoffs. Matt Basile had nine saves in goal for the Monarchs.

King's will travel to St. Davids on Saturday to face defending Freedom Conference champion Eastern University at 1:00 PM.
