KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO GUILFORD IN SPRING BREAK FINALE

GREENSBORO, NC --  Senior Anastasia Araviakis scored six goals but it wasn't enough as the King's College women's lacrosse team dropped the final game of its Spring Break trip 16-9 to host Guilford College Friday in Greensboro, NC.

With the win, Guilford improved to 3-3 while King's slipped to 2-4.

Guilford jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead just 9:38 into the game. King's trimmed the lead to 7-4 when Araviakis scored the third of her four first-half goals with 9:50 to go in the opening stanza. Guilford, however, countered by pushing across three of the final four goals of the half to take a 10-5 lead into the break.

King's opened the second half by scoring three of the next five goals, including two straight by Araviakis to cut the lead to 12-8 with 14:37 to play. But Guilford ended the game scoring four of the last five goals to seal the victory.

Araviakis equaled her career-high in goals, scoring six for the third time in her career while adding seven draws. She also scored her 200th career point, becoming just the fifth player in program history to do so..

Kylie McCarthy, Kendra McCoy, and Amanda Carroll scored once goal apiece while Mary Kate Klodarska and Emma Lehman had one assist apiece. McCarthy and Megan O'Brien led the team with four ground balls respectively. Orla Cottel posted eight saves in net for King's.

Madison Iandoli and Carter MacLeod led Guilford with four and three goals respectively. Sarah Sedaghat made 14 saves in goal.

King's will return to the field Monday with a 6:30 PM matchup at Immaculata University.
