KING'S MEN'S LACROSSE TO FACE MISERICORDIA WEDNESDAY IN MAC FREEDOM SEMI-FINALS
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's lacrosse team will return to the post-season on Wednesday when the Monarchs venture to nearby Dallas to play host Misericordia University in the semi-finals of the MAC Freedom Conference Tournament at 7:00 PM at Anderson Field.
Ticket prices are set at $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students, while children under age-six are free.

King's enters the game with an overall record of 6-8 while finishing 3-4 in MAC Freedom play. It will mark the Monarchs' first post-season appearance since the 2015 campaign. King's, which has suffered heavy graduation losses in recent years, was picked to finish seventh in the MAC Freedom Pre-Season Coaches Poll but the Monarchs out-performed the coaches' expectations
Misericordia, meanwhile, enjoyed an outstanding season, finishing 13-1 and 6-1 in conference play. The Cougars' only loss was to Freedom Conference top-seed Eastern University by a 11-3 count on April 11. The Monarchs and Misericordia played on April 25 with the Cougars registering an 8-6 victory at King's McCarthy Stadium.
King's is led by senior attack Brock Johnson who earned his third All-MAC Freedom selection on Tuesday. Johnson tops the squad with 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists. Johnson stands as King's all-time career scoring leader with 172 points on 104 goals and 68 assists.
Junior attack Brett O'Neill follows with 28 points on 19 goals and nine assists. while senior midfielder Shawn Dickey adds 26 points on 23 goals and three assists. Junior attack Brian Steiger contributes 20 points on 17 goals and three assists while junior midfielder Omar Nijmeh has tallied 15 points on 13 goals and two assists. Sophomore attack Jared Gambino and senior midfielder Ryan Matusiewicz chip in with 14 and 11 points respectively.
Senior face-off specialist Nick Foley has won 150-of-260 faceoffs this season and has a team-high 102 ground balls to his credit. Foley has won a school-record 592 faceoffs in his career.
Defensively for King's, sophomore Jacob Wrede, junior Mike McDougal, junior Tanner Hale, and freshman Vincent Mascari anchor the unit. In goal, senior Matt Basile has a 9.05 goals against average with 149 saves for the Monarchs.
For Misericordia, Patrick Kellish tops the squad with 63 points on 45 goals and 18 assists. Chris Fleming follows with 44 points on 31 goals and 13 assists while Brandon Winslow and Paul Hanrahan chip in with 30 and 28 points respectively. In goal, Matthew Beck has a 6.70 goals against average with 81 saves while Antonio Whyte owns a 7.26 goals against average with 51 stops.
The winner of the game will face the survivor of the other semi-final pairing between Eastern and fourth-seeded Manhattanville. The winners will play at the site of the highest remaining seed Saturday at a time to be announced.
