Last Time Out: Senior Brian Steiger scored with 1:02 remaining in the first overtime period, lifting the King's College men's lacrosse to a thrilling 11-10 victory over Marywood University to earn the team's first win of the year.

The victory for the Monarchs wouldn't have come though if it wasn't for a late bit of magic to tie the game at 10. With less than 30 seconds left, King's (1-6) had a few shot attempts but none would hit the net. With the clock winding down, sophomore Michael O'Brien retrieved a loose ball and fed Alec Martin on the left wing about 10 yards from goal. Martin would take two steps and fire his shot past the Pacer goalkeeper with 1.6 seconds to go in the game to send things to overtime.

In the overtime period, Marywood won the first face-off attempt and had back-to-back shot attempts but senior goalkeeper Matt Basile fended off one while the other hit the side of the net. King's drew a penalty, but couldn't capitalize with the extra-man but kept control of the ball.

With the possession clock ticking down, sophomore Jack Camp moved through "X", and fed a pass over the goal to the top of restraining box. Steiger took the pass and fired to the bottom left of the cage, beating the keeper and giving King's the win.

The win rewarded a great start for the Monarchs, who scored the first four goals of the game in the first quarter including a pair from O'Brien. King's led by as many as four at 5-1 after a Jared Gambino goal at 13:22 of the second quarter. Marywood (2-5) tallied twice before halftime to make it 5-3 going into the break.

After the break, the two teams each scored twice including a goal with 0.6 seconds to go in the third quarter by Gabe Vansuch to make it 7-5 King's heading to the final period.

In the final quarter, Eric Morin started a Marywood comeback with an unassisted goal followed by a game-tying strike from Zach Vaughan. King's regained its lead with the man-advantage at 9:41 on a Camp goal before Matt Mitarotonda tied the game back up at eight.

Senior Omar Nijmeh made a nice move to get free and scored to push King's ahead 9-8 at 6:58. Marywood answered with two goals in 40 seconds to take its first lead of the game at 10-9 after a Jeff Johnsen tally. After the Pacers won the ensuing face-off, MU nearly doubled its lead but a huge save from Matt Basile set up the exciting finish for King's.

O'Brien extended his points streak to three with a career-high four points Wednesday evening, tallying a career-high three goals along with an assist. Steiger finished with two goals and two assists, along with a team-high 11 shots.

Camp posted two huge points for King's on a goal and an assist, and face-off man Trevor Douenias was strong with a team-leading eight ground balls while going 11-of-22 on draws. Defenders Jacob Wrede and Sam Moyer each posted two caused turnovers, and Basile tallied a great game with 17 saves and three ground balls.
