WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 25, 2020) -- Thanks to another strong showing Saturday from freshman Jared Stephan and sophomore Kris Boxter, the King's College men's swimming team earned its third straight win over Misericordia University with a 144-103 win over the Cougars in action from the Anderson Center Pool in Dallas, PA.

Following finishing second in the 400 medley relay with a 3:50.78, the Monarch men came screaming back thanks to a huge win for Jared Stephan in the 1650 freestyle. The distance standout for the Monarchs posted a 16:45.48, a personal-best time, to earn the nine points for King's. Stephan's freshman teammate Erik Aguero finished second with an 18:27.16.

The record times continued to come for King's, as Aguero was back in the pool to post a win in the 200 butterfly with a season-best 2:07.80.

Senior Christopher Dionne took second with a 22.99 in the 50 freestyle, tying his season-best time, and Ryan Bixler finished third with a 23.97. Bixler was third as well in the 100 freestyle after posting a 53.46, and freshman Anthony Macko also scored for King's with a 54.54 for fourth place.

Schwartz was just off his season-best with a 2:31.24 as well for third place in the 200 breast. Stephan's distance prowess continued in the 500 freestyle, comfortably winning with a 5;01.43, and Aguero was right behind him with a 5:15.49 for second place.

Boxter was third with a 2:17.63, and Schwartz added valuable points with a 2:18.10 for fourth place.

King's would clinch the win in the 200 free relay, winning a great race to narrowly out-touch the "A" relay from Misericordia. King's had a big lead going into the last 50, but was able to fend off the late charge, as Stephan teammed with Dionne, Bixler and Macko for a 1:33.60, a 0.16 second win.
