Mullery Shatters 100 Meter Dash Record to Lead King's at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PA (April 13, 2025) -- Jacob Mullery shattered the six-year-old 100 meter dash record on Sunday afternoon to lead the King's College outdoor track and field teams on day two of the Bucknell Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa.
 
On the Track
100 Meter Dash

Abigail Springer crossed in a time of 12.79 seconds to finish 69th out of 91 runners. Nyasia Dailey from Quinnipiac was the top finisher in 11.77 seconds.
 
Jacob Mullery finished second in his heat and 20th overall out of 95 runners in a new outdoor program record time of 10.82 seconds, topping the previous time of 11.02 seconds by Emmanuel Edoukou from the King's Holiday Invitational in 2019. Slippery Rock's Kanye Thompson was the first to cross in 10.27 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer placed 78th out of 102 runners in 26.32 seconds. The host Bucknell's Alex Lea was the top finisher in 24.06 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki finished in 22.12 seconds to place 39th overall out of 109 runners and third in his heat, while Jacob Mullery crossed in 22.35 seconds to place 54th. Alek Gorski rounded out the trio with a time of 22.60 seconds to take third in his heat. Penn State's Jake Palermo was the first to cross in 21.21 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher took 59th in the field of 105 as she crossed in 1:00.22. SUNY Geneseo's Brynn Mooney was the top finisher in 55.53 seconds.
 
Andrew Novrocki finished 25th overall in the field of 104 in 49.58 seconds, while Alek Gorski placed 58th and won his heat with a personal best time of 50.58 seconds.
 
100 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz placed 47th out of the 70 competitors in 15.73 seconds. Wagner's Ruth-Ann Chambers won the event in 13.65 seconds.
 
In the Field
Triple Jump

Cody Miller recorded a jump of 12.05 meters on his third attempt in the event. Cortland State's Amarian Hughes was the top finisher with a mark of 15.13 meters.
 
Javelin Throw
Tyler Bird had a great outing as he finished 18th overall out of 35 throwers with a new outdoor program record mark of 53.07 meters on his first attempt, topping the previous record of 52.93 meters by Coit Holbrook at the 2023 Monarch Open. Travis Lane recorded a throw of 46.96 meters on his first try. Wil Jaques of Division I Lehigh won the event with a mark of 68.23 meters.
 
Hammer Throw
Katey Shoemaker finished 20th out of 43 throwers with a mark of 46.83 meters on her second attempt, while Caitlin Kirk placed 23rd with a throw of 46.48 meters on her second try. Army West Point's Emily Fink won the event with a throw of 67.19 meters.

The Monarchs will have a quick turnaround as they are set to compete in the Misericordia Invitational on Tuesday up in Dallas, Pa.
