READING, PA (February 27, 2026) – The King's College men's track and field team broke two school records Friday on day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the Tom and Helen Flynn Complex, hosted by Alvernia University. The Monarchs are currently tied for eighth place with Delaware Valley with 13 team points.
The Monarchs opened the day with a school record in the 4,000m Distance Medley Relay, as the quartet of
Owen Foytack,
Preston Klem,
Alek Gorski, and
Ben Wnuk earned silver with a time of 10:17.62. The mark was 18.44 seconds faster than the previous record set at last year's MAC Indoor Championships by Foytack, Klem, Gorski, and
Tyler Petty.
King's also set a school record in the 4x200m relay, as
Jacob Mullery,
Jordan Jones,
Kival Clarke, and
Alek Gorski ran 1:32.98 to finish fourth overall, improving on the previous record of 1:34.75 set last season by Mullery, Clarke, Gorski, and
Andrew Novrocki.
In the 60-meter preliminaries, Mullery stopped the clock at 7.15 placing second in his heat and 12th overall.
Josh Malone began the first day of the indoor heptathlon by finishing fourth in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.35 seconds. He went on to place 12th in the long jump at 5.49 meters and 10th in the shot put with a mark of 9.27 meters. Malone closed day one in the high jump, finishing 11th at 1.62 meters, and currently sits 10th overall with 2,163 points.
On the field,
Cody Miller cleared 1.83 meters to place 10th in the high jump, while teammate
Robert Santos finished 14th at 1.78 meters. In the long jump,
Jordan Jones placed 12th with a leap of 6.42 meters,
Kival Clarke earned 13th at 6.33 meters, and Phillip Oden claimed 15th with a jump of 6.09 meters.
In the weight throw,
Brady Rutkoski placed 17th with a mark of 13.47 meters, while teammate
Jacob Martinez finished 19th at 13.24 meters.
Daniel Mattey and
Joey Schneider placed 27th and 30th with tosses of 12.23 meters and 12.05 meters, respectively.
The Monarchs resume competition at the MAC Championships on Saturday, February 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the PLEX in Reading, PA.
